Random The Sopranos Quotes that Resonate With Me (ongoing)
for when i'm in need of motivation or giggles that my housing neighbors will find annoyingly loud

quotes that i enjoyed, followed by a few sentences that sum up my reaction.

quote 1

CHRIS: you ever feel like nothin’ good was gonna happen to you?

PAULIE: yeah, and nothing did. so what?

not to be an existentialist bastard, but this is my favorite quote in the whole show. i think that we could all use a bit of paulie’s stoicism during our darkest moments.

quote 2

JANICE: what’d you do with him?

TONY: we buried him. on a hill. overlooking a little river. with pine cones all around.

JANICE: you did?

TONY: oh Jesus, what the fuck? what’d you care what we did we him?

don’t ask questions you don’t want to know the answer to. as a testament to my anxious personality, i often ask these questions way too much.

quote 3

TONY: i don’t give a fuck.

BOBBY visibly becomes sad

TONY: alright i do give a fuck.

the social need to put up appearances makes us say things we don’t mean. i don’t care about you; i do care about you.

quote 4

CARMINE JR.: your brother billy, whatever happened there.

TONY: alright, then.

PHIL: whatever happened there!?

CARMINE JR.: the shooting.

PHIL: whatever happened there!?!?

CARMINE JR.: God rest his soul.

i have no words bro this is just hilarious if you know the context. phil’s brother was murdered by one of carmine’s guys and this guy unwillingly produces from his mouth some of the most disrespectful sentences ever. you ever poorly word something and it just keeps getting worse? we’ve all been there…

quote 5

CHRIS: isaac newton invented gravity ‘cause some asshole hit him with an apple.

be the change you want to see!!!

quote 6

TONY: it don’t give him the right to mouth off.

DR. MELFI: sounds to me like Anthony Jr. may have stumbled onto existentialism.

TONY: fucking internet.

the best part about growing up in a latino household is the anti-intellectualism and disbelief in mental health, especially if you’re trying to end up like me (aren’t i the coolest?) but what’s more than that is that all of my problems are ultimately blamed on me for wanting to learn about these darker views on life. ironically enough, bumping into existentialism/absurdism during my teenage years probably taught me the most out of all the stupid things i did back then.
